Cult Nails Princess

Monday, April 29, 2013

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a good weekend. I was at home with my family this past weekend. Long story but my dad had to go in for an exploratory heart thing but he's fine and at home now. I got to spend some quality time with my baby niece while I was home, which is always nice. Also went a bit nuts buying Sinful polishes at Dollar Tree since I do not have any near me. Anyway, on to the polish.

Today I have Cult Nails Princess for you. Princess is a very pretty pale blue shimmer (though the shimmer is a little hard to see). This has a very greyed out look which I love. I believe this was 2 coats with top coat.

you can see the shimmer a little better here

All in all, I am very pleased with this one. I like it a lot and I love the fairy tale theme. I think I got Froggy from this collection, too, which I need to try sometime. Cult had a coupon code this weekend as well, and I may have made a purchase. OK, I totally did. Am super excited to finally be getting my hands on Fetish and Wicked Fast. Once I get my order, I will definitely be swatching them.

Have a great week, everyone!

Illamasqua Rare + Zoya Robyn

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

Happy hump day! Today I have another obnoxiously bright manicure for you. Below is Illamasqua Radium, which is a neon yellow. My camera freaked out a little bit trying to photograph is and I am not sure if the neon-ness of is translating. I mean, it still looks bright but it's even brighter in person. Yellows are notoriously difficult to work with and I found that the formula on this wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. I believe I did 3 thin coats to get it fully opaque. Then for kicks I added an accent finger of Zoya Robyn, a really bright blue creme. My nails looked totally 80's and I loved it.

kinda got losta hands here

Still loving these bright summer colors. They just make me happy. Have an awesome day, everyone!

JulieG Blueberry Fizz

Sunday, April 21, 2013

Happy Sunday! I thought I posted all of the JulieG Gumdrops collection but I found one more hiding in my drafts folder. This is Blueberry Fizz, which is a cool toned blue chock full of awesome silver glitter. It has the same candy glitter texture as the rest of the Gumdrops collection. I love how sparkly it is. This is 2 coats without top coat.

I really did not think that I would like this trend as much as I do but these JulieG polishes really got to me. I love the crushed glass look and they are so easy to apply. Another winner!

Sation Class Flirt

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Hello again! Sorry it's been a bit quiet this week. It's been crazy at work and I just haven't had time to blog. But I did get to swatch a few things over the weekend, including the polish I have for you today. Below is Sation Class Flirt. Sation re-branded their line about a year ago and they have been putting out some really awesome collections. I am not sure which series this polish is from but I am pretty sure it came out last year.

Class Flirt is a crazy neon red/orange jelly. Seriously, these pics do not do it justice and are nowhere near as eye searing as it is in real life. I love obnoxiously bright colors though so I was super excited to find this. Formula was good and it only took 2 coats to get this squishy color. It was very shiny, too, and it's shown here with no top coat.

the grey fuzz is my car seat cover
Overall, I really loved this polish. If you like bright, then you need Class Flight!

JulieG Sugar Rush

Monday, April 15, 2013

Happy Monday, everyone. Today I have a really gorgeous polish from the latest JulieG collection Gumdrops. This is Sugar Rush, a beautiful red-orange with insane gold sparkle. As you can see below, this one is super sparkly and glowing. Below is two coats without base or top coat.

The textured trend is going strong with new releases from Zoya and Nicole by OPI coming out soon. The new Zoya Pixie colors look a lot this these with the sugary glitter texture which means that I definitely want to get them. Gumdrops should be popping up at local Rite Aid stores now. I actually saw a display today and had to resist buying them. I own the whole set already yet I really wanted to buy more. Oh the life of a polish addict. Hope you all enjoyed this one and thanks for stopping by!

JulieG Tangerine Dream

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Yes, it's another polish from the JulieG Gumdrops collection. Finally edited all of the pics so you'll be seeing the rest of this collection soon. Today I have Tangerine Dream, which is a really lovely light orange with yellow undertones. This one doesn't have big chunks of silver glitter like some of the other polishes in the collection and instead has an awesome gold shimmer. Like the others in this collection, formula was great. This is 2 easy coats with no base or top coat.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start! I'll be back later this week with more from the Gumdrops collection.

JulieG Crushed Candy

Friday, April 5, 2013

Happy Friday! One more day to go before the weekend. I am excited to just chill out this weekend and get some reading done. If the sun plays nice I may be able to get some swatches taken care of as well. Today I have another polish from the JulieG Gumdrops collection. These polishes are part of the new texture craze except I think they are unique in the fact that they are insanely glittery. They just look like crushed jewels and I kind of love them. Like with most texture polishes, this is meant to be worn without base or top coat, which is how I applied it here.

Crushed Candy is a very pretty pink leaning purple, full of silver glitter. I had no problems with application and this is 2 easy coats.

Isn't it gorgeous? Another winner from the Gumdrops collection. I hope to have the rest of the shades up soon.

Sinful Colors Sugar N Spice

Thursday, April 4, 2013

Today I have another polish that I picked up from the recent Sinful Colors Sugar Rush Collection. Though pastels are pretty predictable for spring, I am still digging the candy color themed. This is Sugar N Spice, a really pretty medium pink with very subtle shimmer. The shimmer does not come up much on the nail unfortunately. But this is still really pretty and I am glad that I picked it up. The formula was fine. This is 2 coats with no top coat. I had no issues with it.

While this probably isn't the most unique color out there, if you like pink, it's a nice one to have and the price point is excellent. Anyone else like Barbie pink colors this this? I love them!

Easter Nails with Illamasqua Fragile

Monday, April 1, 2013

This is coming a bit late. I totally thought I wrote this post up but...I guess I did not. This Easter I am wearing the gorgeous Illamasqua Fragile on my nails. I can't tell you how much I love this polish. The formula was a dream and it's such a unique color in my collection. I got many compliments on it. Everyone thought it had to be two polishes and not one. Love this pale blue and the way that the glitter mixes with the base so that some glitter is darker and closer to the top while other bits are more hidden. It does have a very bird's egg look to it. Fragile wore really well and I did not want to take it off, but my nails were getting too long and I needed to file them (I like short nails). Another winner from Illamasqua!

See how pretty it is? Now I want the rest of the polishes in this collection, especially the purple and green ones. Anyone else in love with this collection?
